Nendaz 

Nendaz sits on a sunny terrace above the Rhone river near Sion, which is the capital of Valais.  

Centrally located in the 4 Valleys, it is a winter sports lovers’ paradise with over 400 km of ski runs. In summer, Nendaz attracts scores of hikers, mountain bikers and nature enthusiasts. A modern holiday resort has grown around this delightful old Valais village with its charming traditional timber houses and panoramic views of the Alps. 

Siviez, 8 km to the south, is also part of the Nendaz community and has cable cars that run to the top of the nearby majestic peak of Mont Fort, the highest peak in the 4 Valleys region. 

Nendaz boasts many charming cafes, bistros and restaurants with many more in surrounding areas such as Planchouet, Siviez and La Tsournaz.  There is also a vibrant (but not too wild) nightlife scene.  

While Nendaz is topographically smaller than Verbier (easier to meet your fellow skiers), it has a significantly higher year round population (around 5,000), enabling the enjoyment of a fine meal, beer or entertainment even during the off season.
